What is Prenatal Care?
Prenatal care is the process of regular checkups with care of a license medical professionals: physician, nurse practitioner, and nurses throughout your pregnancy to ensure the health of both you and your growing little one. These checkups among others include a physical exam, weight checks, vital signs, listening to baby’s heartbeat, and in-house lab work. Depending on the stage of your pregnancy, there may be some additional tests that the doctor will discuss with you when you arrive for your appointment.
Why does it matter?
Prenatal care is an important step in preventing potential complications during your pregnancy. During your appointments, you’ll be given information on proper diet, exercise, and how to control preexisting conditions, if any apply. The doctor will also instruct you on medications you can and cannot take during pregnancy. At the end of your appointments, you’ll be able to get answers to any questions you may have.
How does it work?
If you’re interested in our prenatal program, fill out our contact form and a member of our team will get back to you to schedule an exact time and date. Your first prenatal care appointment is usually the longest, so block out plenty of time for it. This is to ensure you have a thorough checkup, as well as enough time to have your questions answered.
